Terms and conditions for permanent makeup eyeliner
When receiving permanent makeup eyeliner, a client is typically required to sign a consent form that outlines the pre-care, risks, aftercare, and general policies of the procedure. These terms and conditions are meant to inform the client of what to expect and protect the practitioner and client legally.
Pre-procedure conditions
To ensure the best results and a safe procedure, clients must agree to follow specific instructions before their appointment.
Medication and supplements:
Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements, including aspirin,
ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E, for a specified period (e.g., 24
hours to 2 weeks) before the procedure. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is often
recommended if pain relief is needed.
Cosmetic products:
Stop using skincare products containing Retin-A, retinol, or
glycolic/lactic acids in the eye area for 1 to 4 weeks prior, as they
can cause skin sensitivity.
Alcohol and caffeine:
Refrain from consuming alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours
before the procedure to minimize bleeding, swelling, and sensitivity.
Contact lenses and lash extensions:
Eyelash extensions must be removed several days prior to the
appointment. Contact lenses must be removed before the procedure and
cannot be worn for 24–72 hours afterward.
Other cosmetic treatments:
Wait a designated period (e.g., weeks or months) after receiving eye
surgery (like LASIK), Botox/fillers, or lash treatments (like dyeing or
perming)
Permanent eyeliner, or an eyeliner tattoo, is a cosmetic tattoo that deposits pigment into the skin along the lash line to create lasting definition, eliminating the daily need for traditional liquid or pencil liner. The process involves using a specialized needle and tool to implant pigment, with results lasting 1.5–3 years, depending on factors like skin type and sun exposure. Benefits include convenience, smudge-proof results, and enhancement of lashes, but thorough research of a qualified artist and strict aftercare are crucial for safety and optimal healing.
